This is a Warsaw Ghetto memoir.  From age 9 to 13 Janina lived in the ghetto, eventually was smuggled out to live with family friends – a Polish woman and her German-born husband, and then to a Catholic convent.  She has detailed recall and an artist’s sensibility, combined with true writing talent.  Janina visited Pinner for Yom Hashoah and gave us her remarkable story.
